Hello, I'm new to the forum and new to IPCop 2.0.4. I have a bit of experience in the old 1.4.xx version though. We have IPCop 1.4.xx deployed in several of our locations in an MPLS, and an order to allow traffic into the network behind a specific firewall, we have to make changes to the /etc/rc.d/rc.netaddress.up file. I know that you can make entries from the initial root login via SSH, but want something permanent that isn't lost when the IPCop gets rebooted. On the 1.4.xx version, i have entries like this in the rc.netaddress.up file:

/sbin/iptables -A CUSTOMFORWARD -i eth1 -o eth2 -s 172.16.1.0/24 -d 10.4.1.0/24 -j ACCEPT
/sbin/iptables -A CUSTOMFORWARD -i eth1 -o eth2 -s 10.99.0.0/22 -d 10.4.1.0/24 -j ACCEPT

Where would I put those entries in 2.0.4? I also understand that the names of the NICs have been changed from eth# to wan-1/lan-1/dmz-1, etc, so no need to explain that.

Thanks to anyone who can help!!

Try the admin manual?

You know, it's probably in there, but I couldn't find it. If you have an answer, I'd appreciate it. If not, then why even bother replying? Thanks.

Every (EVERY) forum page has a link to the doc's section on the Official IPCOP site.

There's a whole section in the new manual called "2.9. User Customization" - seems like that was less then difficult to find.

After you answer the same (well documented) question 60 or 70 times, you'll understand why the members here have a tendency to point out the obvious.

And we have an annoying tendency to close threads that are classed "too lazy to read the docs".
