Hi all,
I'm currently using a cisco wireless router, configured to get an IP address from my isp automatically through their DHCP. When I put my ipcop box behind this router (Internet-->cisco router-->ipcop-->computers) it works fine; the computers are assigned IP addresses by ipcop, and I can access the internet. However, when I remove the cisco router (Internet-->ipcop-->computers), ipcop assigns ip addresses to the computers, but they cannot access the internet. As ipcop boots up, it hangs on "bringing network up" before stating that it failed to connect on the red interface. When I switched from the poorly-made verizon-issued Actiontec router to the current cisco one, I didn't have any problems.
My ipcop setup is as follows: Pentium 3 1ghz, 128ddr ram, 2 realtek nic's, 6gb harddisk. red interface configured for dhcp.
This is my first time working with linux, and i would appreciate any help.
Thanks!
