I just setup IPCop and I can't get to the internet

There are a variety of reasons why you may not be able to access the internet on first setting up your IPCop.

1. You may have configured your network incorrectly
   • You may have a subnet overlap - All zones must be on different subnets
   • All zones must be physically isolated from each other
2. IPCop may not have been fully or correctly setup
   • Your network cards (NIC's) may not have been correctly recognised
   • You may have plugged the cables into the wrong network cards
     • Check the MAC addresses for each card, using ifconfig /a from the ipcop root shell or on the firewall GUI under “Network Settings”
